A Day in Florence : Here’s What To Do!

Welcome back to our blog! If you are in Florence and you don’t know where to start, here is a simple list that can help you outline your visit to this beautiful and unforgettable Italian city!

1. Uffizi Gallery

Explore the glory of the masterpieces of the past at the Uffizi Gallery : the famous museum of Florence contains one of the oldest and most famous art collections in the world and visitors should not miss the opportunity to see the most extraordinary pieces made by Giotto ,  Michelangelo , Filippo Lippi , Raphael and Caravaggio .
Usually, it takes hours to enter but with our agency it will be possible to skip the line and immediately enter the Uffizi!

2. Piazza della Signoria and Loggia de’Lanzi

This stupendous open square, used as a meeting place for the people, is located right in front of Palazzo Vecchio and houses numerous amazing statues, such as a replica of David and the Fountain of Neptune known as “Il Biancone” . The Loggia de ‘Lanzi houses prestigious statues such as  Perseus with the head of Medusa by the artist Benvenuto Cellini . The Loggia was used as a space for political functions : in fact, there sat the jury intent on ruling on those who transgressed the laws.

3. San Lorenzo Market

During the Medici Tour , it is possible to land in this square: take the time to visit one of the largest and oldest food markets in the center of Florence . In this Florentine atmosphere, you will smell, you will see and touch the freshest products and above all you will be able to taste whatever catches your attention! The first floor of the Central Market (which is another way to call the San Lorenzo market in Italian) now houses bars, restaurants, high quality cafes to eat, drink and relax. Then, arrange with your guide to visit the market, during the lunch break, after concluding the Medici Tour!

4. Lunch in San Lorenzo

Do not waste time to choose and let us advise you: the Panino con Lampredotto is the ideal and typical Florentine lunch . As strange as it is tasty, the Lampredotto is composed of the abomasum or the base of one of the four stomachs of the bovine. It is served boiled in a bun by adding a green sauce or made spicy .
This poor dish can also be found in small kiosks scattered throughout Florence : do not miss it (also because where could a sandwich escape? )!

6. Accademia Gallery

The Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze is an art museum in Florence best known as the home of Michelangelo’s David sculpture . Do you understand now why you don’t have to leave Florence without paying a visit to our friend? The Gallery also preserves other sculptures by Michelangelo and a vast collection of paintings by Florentine artists, mostly from the period from 1300-1600 , from the fourteenth century to the late Renaissance .
Smaller than the Uffizi and borders the Academy of Fine Arts .

7.Piazzale Michelangelo

Florence seen from above is a wonderful experience not only to take some perfect souvenir photos. You are admiring the city that has launched inimitable artists , brilliant scientists , hard-fisted politicians who have marked the history of a city and a country.
It doesn’t matter what time you reach the Piazzale because the viewpoint is always there to surprise you.
It can be a classic tourist stop but it always manages to capture anyone’s heart and imagination !
